Easy Bailey's Hot Fudge Sauce ~ Sumptuous Spoonfuls #hotfudge #recipe

A rich hot fudge sauce you can have ready to pour over your favorite ice cream in about five minutes. If you happen to have some Irish Cream on hand, well then, it is quite possible that you already have all the things you need to make this lovely sauce on hand in your pantry.

My daughter went to visit and stay with her best friend a few weeks ago and every time she does that, she comes home with some new food that she just loves. On this trip, she fell in love with Trader Joe’s hot fudge sauce. We don’t have a Trader Joe’s here. We looked for hot fudge sauce at our local grocery store, but there wasn’t any. Just chocolate sauce. Not the same thing, people. So I said to her, we can make hot fudge sauce. It can’t be that hard.

So we went home and then, once we’d left the store, I started researching fudge sauce recipes. This one wants heavy cream. That one wants something else we don’t have. I started getting a little grumpy when I realized that there were NO recipes that have things we actually had on hand! I was really NOT wanting to run to the store AGAIN … so I figured let’s just do this the easy way, like I make my fudge … with sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips. And Bailey’s. Yeah. We kind of have a thing for Bailey’s at my house (even though my now-adult kids don’t drink … still we all agree that a little Bailey’s in a recipe just makes it taste better).

So daughter and I concocted this recipe with things we had on hand in our pantry. And it turned out with the perfect thick, ooey gooey hot fudge texture and the rich hot fudge flavor that we both love. Make sure you use a good quality dark chocolate and real vanilla for best results.

Hello Lucy,

It keeps for a looong time in the fridge, several weeks if not months. Make sure to warm it up before using it and add a splash of milk if needed if it gets too thick.
