Bangers with Beer Braised Cabbage ~ Sumptuous Spoonfuls #lowcarb #Irish #sausage #recipe

Bangers with Beer Braised Cabbage

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 - 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 Tablespoon butter
  • 24 sausages, sliced (I used 2 chicken sausages)
  • 1/2 of a yellow onion
  • 12 large cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 of a medium cabbage, sliced thin
  • a splash of Irish ale
  • Red Robin Seasoning (or salt) & freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • For the top: shredded Irish cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large saute pan over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the sausages, onion and garlic, Saute for several minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
  2. Add the cabbage and a splash of Irish ale. Cover and cook for a few minutes, then uncover and stir. Cover again and cook for a few more minutes, until the cabbage is wilted but still crisp tender.
  3. Serve topped with a bit of shredded Irish cheese if desired.

Notes

If you add cheese, I recommend a good quality Irish cheese like Dubliner or Skellig from Kerrygold.
