Baharat Chicken in the Instant Pot

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 25 minutes
  • Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 Tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and sliced
  • 46 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
  • 2/3 cup white wine
  • About 1 Tablespoon Baharat seasoning
  • Salt & freshly ground pepper
  • 48 pieces of chicken (thighs and legs work well)
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Set the Instant Pot on Saute setting, add the avocado oil, onion and garlic and saute for about 5 minutes or until the onion is soft & translucent. Stir in the seasoning. Pour in the wine.
  2. Sprinkle the chicken pieces with salt & pepper and additional Baharat seasoning, then place them on top of the onions. Top the chicken with lemon wedges.
  3. Set the Instant Pot to pressure cook for 25 minutes, cover and cook. Use the quick release method to release the steam and retrieve the chicken. Serve with rice or quinoa and a Mediterranean salad or other veggies.
